About
About Me
Bria Wannamaker, RP.
Welcome to my practice! I'm a dedicated professional with a background in behavioural psychology, my mission is to help neurodivergent people know that: 1) they matter, 2) they belong and, 3) they are limitless.
My career working in the mental health field started in school, where I volunteered with kids with special needs, and I've since dabbled in everything from my undergrad thesis while working in a forensic mental health hospital, to working with youth in conflict with the law, youth facing homelessness, and adults with dual diagnosis (developmental disability and comorbid mental health diagnosis) in behavioural treatment homes. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I've supported a broad range of people with varying diagnoses, and different presenting problems.

I believe that there is such importance in empowering people to take control of their lives by first recognizing their own thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and beliefs in order to build healthier patterns of relating to 1) self, 2) others, and 3) the world around them. This helps people to build their self-esteem and to live more authentically which helps us to feel successful and fulfilled in life!

A Personal Note
Outside of my work as a therapist, you can find me wearing my superhero cape as a mom and running around as a lifelong athlete—coffee in hand, of course! I absolutely adore being outdoors. I’m on a mission to master the art of laughing at myself and not taking life too seriously (spoiler: it's a work in progress!).

About You
Your inner critic is LOUD, you feel like other people don't understand you and like you can fit in with groups of people or peers, but you never truly feel accepted. You judge yourself after most of your social interactions and ruminate on what you could have done better. You might feel scattered like a highly-anxious over-achiever, or the equally distressing opposite experience of an under-motivated slug; either way, life feels challenging and overwhelming for you. You have so many gifts and talents and your potential to excel in life is available to you, and you know it - only, this world does not cater eagerly to neurodiverse populations and so you're navigating some barriers and challenges toward reaching your goals and dreams.
